UNM Clinic Brings Top-Notch Care to Fourth Street Neighborhood

Updated: Sep 3, 2022

The Richardson & Richardson team is pleased to complete the University of New Mexico Hospital North Valley Center for Family & Community Health. This new, award-winning 17,000-square-foot health facility located in the Fourth Street neighborhood in Albuquerque, NM, an older area of the city currently undergoing a period of revitalization.

This $4 million, state-of-the-art clinic features a multi-disciplinary primary care center including blood draw, pharmacy, radiology lab equipped with digital wi-fi x-ray technology, patient rooms, and a community conference room. The facility sits on a two-acre site and is specifically for patients in the Fourth Street community seeking everything from regular check-ups to mental health care

A variety of community stakeholders, including nearby property owners, neighborhood associations, local schools and churches, were involved throughout the project to allay any concerns regarding the facility’s construction. Richardson & Richardson, along with the project’s architect, held weekly meetings to update the community on the center’s progress.

The project utilized a technique called “work leveling” in which each trade would complete a section entirely before continuing to the next area. This also allowed touch-ups to be completed in finished areas while work continued in the latter stages of construction. In 2016, we were honored to receive an NAIOP of New Mexico Award of Merit for the North Valley Center.
